I got an invite today here at Walrus, a bar catered to college students nearby. It was like a throwback experience for me as young people surrounded me and the DJ was performing mostly 90s pop music.

They are now four years old! And they are celebrating this milestone with a new set of Mexican plates and their mixture of cocktails.

Kick off your visit with two affordable appetizers fit to share with friends. Get the upgraded traditional nachos with Sisig and Walrus’ best selling, cracking, Chicken Skin for just Php 70!

For mains, fill yourself up with either the Chicken or Beef Tacos, curated through a hard shell version. It will be a mess to eat but worth all that muddle after. The flatter and as delicious varieties of Quesadilla is an alternative bite if you are not that hungry.

If you are an adventurous diner like me, dive in and have their unique Kare Kare Burrito. It even comes with more peanut sauce and bagoong on the side. I suggest pairing this with creamy, homemade Horchata, a drink made up of rice, milk, vanilla, and cinnamon.

If you find yourself in Katipunan, Walrus is a worthy visit. I would recommend going on Fridays so you can have cool music while you hang out.
